Ed Buchanan
Ed took over Academy Marquees 7 years ago following a lengthy stint working as a corporate account manager in the events sector. Bringing both ambition and creative flare to the business, Ed’s relentless drive has seen the Academy Events Group grow to become a full service event resource within the UK market. In addition to overseeing the continued expansion of the Group, Ed uses his vast knowledge of the industry to create, plan and execute a vast array of projects, helping to earn Academy the reputation for excellence it enjoys today. When not at the helm of the Academy Events Group, Ed can be found pursuing his high octane interests of windsurfing, sailing and mountain biking.
Christopher Boot
With a degree in Mathematics, Chris’s skills are put to the test working as Academy’s logistical and financial controller. Now in his fifth year with the company, Chris’s management knowledge and analytical background have seen numerous changes implemented throughout the company, including a complete overhaul of all budget forecasting and stock control. Outside the office, Chris can be found working on site overseeing a team of riggers and designers responsible for the construction of our event marquees. A keen sportsman, Chris is currently playing hockey at national league level for Guildford’s mens 1st XI.
Katie Carlin
Katie joined Academy in 2004 after securing a first-class degree in English Literature from The University of Sheffield. With a background in event management and sales, Katie fronts a team of planners, account managers and creatives that work on all Academy’s events. Having worked on projects spanning Academy’s hugely diverse portfolio of clients, Katie’s knowledge of event management has become an invaluable asset to the team. When not scrutinising event plans, Katie can be found jetting off to exotic waters to indulge in her passion for scuba diving.
From past experience we have found that our customers benefit greatly from having a highly experienced on-site contact. Therefore, for every project, Academy Marquees will allocate a dedicated site manager. He will be your on-site contact, making sure that all your requirements; queries and concerns are dealt with as quickly and efficiently as possible.
