50th birthday party marquee
Event Briefing
The clients brief was to have a contemporary and stylish marquee constructed in their Surrey garden from which they could host a birthday celebration for 80 friends and family. The main points of focus were to include as many of the existing garden features within the marquee as possible, this even meant working around their 40′ long Koi carp pond!
Site Analysis & Obstacles
Following a site visit we could draw up a feasible design for the project and put the clients mind at ease regarding a couple of concerns that they had. The main space was absolutely perfect for the guest numbers and access was required from the house where guests and caterers would be entering. Like many clients there was a large concern regarding any damage to the patio and lawn, with the inclusion of our raised and level boarded floor both the patio and garden become extremely well protected.
Academy Marquees Solution
A detailed site floor plan was put together to give a birds eye representation of the covered space, we were able to create a guest walkway for access via the house and a secondary walkway for catering access, finally there was space for an open sided smoking area. The main marquee area was given a contemporary styling with the use of academy marquees ivory star light roof lining and contrasting polished, black dance floor. The main feature in the dining room was the inclusion of the clients 2m x 12m koi carp pond.
Installation with due care and attention
The project build went very smoothly, ensuring that the flooring was carefully laid to avoid any damage to the patio, grass or Koi pond! Our site foreman had to raise the guest walkway slightly to accommodate the high patio doors but this did not cause any problems with the progression of the build. Everything was completed to deadline and was in conjunction with the Academy Marquees “No Hassle” promise.
